My Very Public Diary Issue # 11
Happy Friday, Diarists!
I toss around thank you’s for all of y’all that open this newsletter every other week, but I can’t really express how much it truly means when I get a text, a DM, or an IRL comment about you reading it! Running into a couple girls at the bar last Friday (shout-out to my favorite ladies of Main Street Shop & Studio in OTR!!!) who were literally quoting my newsletter back to me (and chastising me for wanting to shop after I mentioned I shouldn’t be) made me GLOW into the next day. With that being said, and as cliche as it might come off, please make sure you’re telling people when something they do is entertaining, inspiring, joyful, or exciting - it takes nothing from you and gives so much to others.
Anywho, I want to keep providing content that entertaining and makes you want to come back week after week so I’d love if you sounded off in the comments about what you want to see here — and honesty is the best policy so no tip toeing around my feelings ok???
I’m feeling a little uninspired this time around so excuse the randomness or briefness of today’s newsletter.
A list of things to do when you’re sad according to me:
Listen to Jess Glynne, specifically, Don’t Be So Hard on Yourself
Go to Iris Read (for non cincinnati readers, this is a perfect natural wine bar in Walnut Hills)
I suppose any wine bar could work but there’s something special about this place that just turns my frown upside down
Wear the color pink
Read a book outside with a beer
Go on a walk (this usually only can truly cure the blues if there’s sunshine tho)
Get a McD’s diet coke
Eat a really good turkey sandwich (must have mustard)
building on the above bullet, a really good mustard
Watch Broad City
Drink a poppi, specifically cherry limeade
Pet/admire/snuggle dogs
Eat peanut butter
Go to the pool
Send a funny meme or video to a friend and maniacally laugh about it together (I’d super recommend it be of someone falling down)

Hyper fixations
I’ll be honest, I don’t have the energy nor any amount of newness in my life for a full recently’s list this issue, so a handful of current hyper fixations can be found below instead.
Finding a good pair of ~3in heels to wear with my baggy denim shorts and an oversized tee. I typically have 1-3 pairs of shoes I gravitate to and rotate between and my favorite lime yellow Simon Miller heeled mules are getting worn downnnnn so now I must find a replacement.
my lunch: Tacos stuffed with amylu andouille chicken sausages, black beans, eggs, pickled red onions, arugula, goat cheese or avocado, and hot sauce
Smoothies! Riding that smoothie train hard right now — but it is mostly happening in the way of me stopping by Better Blend (my god, the cinnamon roll is literally MAGIC?!) entirely too frequently so trying to bring the same hype I feel about their smoothies to some concoctions at home. While our at home smoothies are not even in the same stratosphere as BB, I have been going hard with this combo: banana, chocolate protein powder, a few dollops of greek yogurt, splash of maple syrup, a shot of espresso, and frozen cauliflower (this is a must for texture and extra veggies!).
Pinterest. I’m having so much fun on Pinterest again — or honestly for the first time ever. I’m a late adopter to social media (if you’re my boss and you’re reading this i am actually a savant at social media don’t even worry about it). Currently pinning outfit inspiration and ideas for future dinner parties (manifesting dinner parties!!).
That Paula Abdul literally hasn’t aged? Like it truly looks like someone cryogenically froze her 15 years ago. Enjoy the black hole the googling of that will do to you.
Boxer shorts. This is the vibe for me all summer. Pairing along graphic tees, button downs, and small tank tops.
NAIL ART OF THE WEEK:
XOXO,
AZG
